MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS CARE CENTER
Design in Crisis Care
with Texture that Cares
Designed by FFKR Architects, the Kem and Carolyn Gardner Mental Health Crisis Care Center demonstrates how thoughtful design can become an active part of the healing process. Every space was intentionally created to reduce stress, restore dignity, and replace the institutional feel often associated with behavioral healthcare with warmth, comfort, and a sense of hope.
SOELBERG Albero 3D Wall Panels play a meaningful role in that experience, introducing organic texture and biophilic warmth that help patients feel more connected to nature and their surroundings. From the oversized Albero installation in the lobby to the standard-scale panels throughout observation and patient waiting areas, FFKR used the sculptural forms to create a calming visual rhythm that encourages a sense of ease from the moment patients arrive. Paired with abundant daylight and hospitality-inspired interiors, Albero helps transform the center into an environment that supports emotional well-being, reduces anxiety, and reinforces the journey toward recovery.
Get to know FFKR Architects
At FFKR Architects, great design starts with people. Their team believes the spaces we experience every day have the power to shape how we feel, heal, connect, and thrive. That people-first mindset is at the heart of every project, blending architecture, interiors, and landscape design to create environments that are as welcoming as they are purposeful.
That same philosophy extends beyond the studio. FFKR invests in the growth of its designers, encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyles, and stays deeply connected to the communities it serves. Whether mentoring the next generation of architects, supporting local organizations, or designing spaces that make everyday life a little better, FFKR approaches every opportunity with creativity, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to improving the human experience through design.
