My Cartoon Reality
I remember as a kid anticipating Saturday morning beginning Monday morning. Not simply because Saturday was a break from school, but more importantly because Saturday morning cartoons were the best there were. I didn’t even bother sleeping in because that was cartoon time wasted. I came across Neil Dawson’s Horizons sculpture and was instantly transported back to my cartoon fascinations of childhood, but…..the real optical illusion here is that it is tangible and made of welded and painted steel. His sculpture is located in New Zealand on “The Farm,” a large art park owned by art collector Alan Gibbs. Look at his collection: http://gibbsfarm.org.nz/dawson.php

I cannot even express how creative I think this is! It tickles me how dream-like and cartoon-esque the whole appearance is. Thank you for this post.
